Bobcat No More

I hope Sean May enjoyed his time sitting beside NBA Legend Michael Jordan because his time as a Bobcat is over. Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins just said the team has decided not to make a $3.6 million qualifying offer to Sean May. That means power forward May, the 13th pick in 2005, will be an unrestricted free agent in July. Higgins said the team is still open to re-signing May, but his lack of production last season, combined with his qualify offer number, made them pass on restricting his movement. There was speculation that May could have returned for the 2009-2010 season, but Higgins’ comments show that the Cats are looking to head in a new direction.

May was selected 13th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats, becoming one of a record four Tar Heels to be drafted in the lottery picks. He has not been the dominate big man that they wanted him to be since his constant injuries occur.
