Steven Jackson is trying to become a more effective running back. So he is working on becoming a better route runner and receiver. What might have caused the change was the the fact that his new offensive coordinator, was with the Eagles and Brian Westbrook [they have two different styles though]. He has not been limited to just catching the ball out of the back field, but they have also flanked him out wide. I doubt he will have Marshall Faulk|LaDainain Tomlinson-type season but there should be a increase in his catches.
