Probably Done

The Sports Xchange has learned that defensive back, Jimmy Williams, currently a free agent, has been suspended by the NFL for at least one year for an apparent violation of the league's substance abuse policy. During the term of his suspension, Williams can sign with an NFL team, but he can't be included in any team activities [even though nobody is going to pick him up now]. Man I was really behind this guy coming out but he has just threw his chance away. He should be a shame to wear the number two. Ha. Now I see why the Niners released him earlier this year.

Life After Football

Ricky Williams began to think of life after football and begin to think about becoming a massage therapist. The idea actually started in 2006, when he played in Toronto during an NFL suspension for testing positive for marijuana. "When I started to sense I wouldn't play football forever, it was kind of scary to think of yourself as diminished in that way," he said. "Not that you don't always know you're not going to play forever. But at some point you understand that time is coming fast. "That's scary. Football is still important to me. But you gain a better perspective as you get older. There was a time if I didn't lead the NFL in rushing, I considered myself a failure. That's what happened in 2003. Now I see there are other ways to define yourself." He sees two more years of football in his body. And he's assembling a plan toward that point. He plans to attend medical school for osteopathy, a holistic manner of treating the body. To do so, he needs the undergraduate degree he didn't complete at Texas. So he enrolled at Nova Southeastern and has taken classes. Last season, for instance, he took an algebra and English course. Props to Ricky Williams for turning his life around here lately.

Tweet On

Chad Ochocinco says he’s going to Tweet during Bengals games no matter what the NFL says.

“There’s a lot of things they (NFL) don’t want me to do. I do it anyway. They know that. I don’t know why they even fussing about it. … When I say I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it, regardless of what they say.”

Greek God

Olympiakos may consider a run at Knicks guard Nate Robinson. the Greek team is hoping to sign Robinson as another ticket-seller, who would easily be a bigger star there.European teams can sign restricted free agents from the NBA with no compensation. But the NBA team does maintain the player's rights. Robinson has been in Europe making appearances at basketball camps. He is an immensely-popular NBA player who might be the type to strike it rich in Europe as a fan attraction. But he is also the type that would likely prefer to remain in the NBA.

Wanted:Role Player

The Clippers interest in Allen Iverson is mutual, but it's hard to say who is more into who. lverson clearly needs a job and isn't hurt at all by his name being linked to several franchises: Miami, Memphis and now the Clippers. The Clippers are intrigued by the idea, but they are intrigued by several players right now. On the wish list before next season is adding another big and another perimeter player. First though, the Clippers intend to meet with Allen Iverson to determine how he feels about a potential bench role. We all know how he feels about that role. The concern is how adding an Iverson to the mix affects the development of shooting guard Eric Gordon.

Future is Now

Kings owner Gavin Maloof talk Kings during the Summer League game on Monday night. When play-by-play fellow Rick Kamla asked how long Gavin thinks it will take to get Tyreke Evans into Sacramento's starting line-up, Maloof relayed word from Westphal, given when Gavin asked the coach the same question. The word? "He'll start as soon as he steps on the court." Well Kings fans, meet your new starting point guard from Day 1, folks. Evans had 33/9/7 (with 7 turnovers) Monday night against Milwaukee. He's averaging 22/8/4 at Summer League. Seems like a great starting block for their future to me.

Still A Magic

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Orlando Magic is matching the offer the Dallas Mavericks made to Marcin Gortat, thus keeping him from the Mavericks. That means no Brandon Bass or Marcin Gortat for Dallas. Orlando Magic announced Monday that they have matched the Dallas Mavericks' five-year, $34 million offer sheet to backup center Marcin Gortat.

Another Cav

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed free agent shooting guard Anthony Parker to an undisclosed contract on Monday. Parker has spent the past three seasons in Toronto and averaged 10.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists over 80 games during the 2008-09 campaign. The former Euroleague MVP (2005) also recorded a career-high 104 steals last year and shot 39.0 percent from three-point range. The Cavs will appreciate the good shooting and solid defense that Anthony brings to the them. He will be a solid addition to their roster. I mean he has to, his sister is WNBA star, Candace Parker. I know Lebron will appreciate another wing man. He is expected to come off the bench behind Delonte West.

Couple No-More

Tony Romo broke up with Jessica Simpson on Thursday, the night before her 29th birthday, a source close to the pop star tells PEOPLE. "She is heartbroken," says the source. "She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways." The Dallas Cowboys quarterback fueled breakup rumors when he showed up with about 14 friends at the Hollywood hotspot MyHouse on Friday night without the birthday girl, a source tells PEOPLE. Simpson had planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party for her birthday, but it fell through, according to a message she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday. "Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!" she wrote. Although Simpson's heart might be broken, she seems to remain hopeful about love. On Sunday, she Tweeted, "Everyone needs to know that hope floats ... grab the strings and pull it back to you." Three hours later, she wrote, "Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please lord give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace.

Simpson’s rep had no comment. Romo's rep could not be reached for comment. I have a comment, "what is wrong with Romo!?!?! I officially believe he is gay [no shots to the gay community]. Well she could always hit me up.

Flynn Q & A

Jonny Flynn, the former Syracuse guard, fielded many other questions about his future.

Q. David Kahn says he has never known another [6-foot] guy who feels like he's [6-4]. What about you gives that impression?

A. It's [not] the size that counts. You've seen that this year: [Houston point guard] Aaron Brooks really dominated the playoffs. No one could stay in front of him, and he might be 5-8. So I think it's the size of this thing beating inside your chest, and I have a big one of those.

Q. You played at Syracuse with the ball always in your hands. How will you possibly play off the ball in the same backcourt with Ricky Rubio?

A. Any NBA team isn't going to change what they're doing just for you. At Syracuse, I dominated the ball because Coach [Jim] Boeheim wanted me to. Coming into a new situation, you have to be open-minded about it. ... I would really love to get Ricky here and we can really try to work this thing out.

Q. You grew up in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and played at Syracuse. Snow and cold doesn't scare you, does it?

A. We probably get more snow in upstate New York than you get here. I actually have an uncle and a cousin who live in St. Paul. This is a great place to play.

Q. How much did that six-overtime victory over UConn in the Big East tournament change your life? [He played 67 minutes, scored 34 points, had 11 assists and was 16-for-16 at the free-throw line.]

A. That was everything. If it wasn't for that game, I'd be back at Syracuse right now. That was a game everybody: East, Midwest, West Coast got to watch because it went on so long.

Q. Have you looked at the roster yet and seen how very few Gs -- guards -- are on it?

A. I've seen that, but we've got two beasts down low in Kevin Love and Al Jefferson. To be a successful team, you have to start down low. I think we already have that and we can build on that.

Q. Can you defend taller point guards in this league?

A. At my size, every point guard in the NBA is bigger than me. I'm going to have to get used to that right away.

Q. Are you fast enough to chase down those Kevin Love outlet passes?

A. Oh, definitely. That's what I'm waiting for, standing out there halfcourt. You can just call for it, you don't have to come back for the ball. You just take off.
