The Hawks and Golden State are close to finalizing a trade that would bring Jamal Crawford to Atlanta and send Acie
Law and Speedy Claxton to the Warriors. The trade gives the Hakws a PG in backcourt since starting point guard Mike Bibby and backup guard Flip Murray are both unrestricted free agents. Crawford has been on the trading block for months after Warriors coach Don Nelson made it clear that the prolific scorer was not in the team's long term plans. Neither Claxton nor Law is the Warriors’ answer to their point guard solutions. They are still in the market for a PG, so this trade does not rule out them drafting a point guard. Although the deal can’t be completed until the 2009-10 season begins on July 1. Crawford gets to play point guard on a playoff team. Plus, his son lives in Atlanta with his mom.
