Panthers rookie running back Mike Goodson was fined $7,500 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct for his throat-slashing gesture following a 14-yard touchdown run in Monday night's exhibition loss to the New York Giants. Goodson's debut was packed with thrills and chills. His touchdown run was a nifty cutback to the left after he found the right side of the line stuffed by the Giants defense. On the previous play, he ran 16 yards with a pitch down the left sidelines. However, he also fumbled twice after pass receptions, losing one, and was penalized 15 yards for the throat-slash, which is not allowed in the NFL.
