The Nuggets have reached the conference Finals the first time since '85. Which is understandable why he [the owner] would let the WWE Monday Night Raw get the Pepsi Center. The problem came when the Nuggets made the trade for Billups and became a championship contending team. Now they are hosting game 4 home but that is the same night Raw is suppose to be aired. WWE spokesperson said they have already sold 10,000 tickets for this event. The Pepsi Center is trying to reschedule the event as this has never happened before. This is what Vince McMahon had to say about this:
"Even though the Denver Nuggets had a strong team this year...[Nuggets owner] Stan Kroenke did not have enough faith in his own team to hold the May 25th date for a potential playoff game."
"We can't reschedule the event. We can't get out there as often as we would like for a television event, because we're the second-largest traveling show in the world to Ringling Brothers. The amount of equipment we have is extraordinary."
"We would have never played the date if we known we could be preempted. We've been working around NBA dates for a long, long time, and had we know that this was going to be something unceremoniously thrown out on, we never would have taken the date on a tentative basis. We don't do that."
